Tue., May 6, 2008: May 5, 2008- Iowa Terror Show with Mike Palacek

Mike Palacek is a former Omaha resident who served five jail and prison terms during the 1980s for protests at Offutt Air Force Base. He crossed the line at the base on many occasions along with others to say no to the United States military and its surge toward global dominance. His incarcerations included the county jails in Omaha, Papillion, Lincoln and Council Bluffs and also included the federal prisons in Chicago, Terre Haute and El Paso.

A former seminarian for the Omaha archdiocese, Palecek once asked for sanctuary in the Cathedral rather than attend a sentencing hearing for an Offutt protest, in order to attempt to convince the Omaha Catholic Church to denounce the Strategic Air Command. The bishop denied Palecek's request. Even though the Cathedral was surrounded by FBI agents, Palecek was able to slip past them. He and his family then went underground for two weeks, pursued by the Omaha FBI office. He ended up giving himself up at a press conference in front of The Chancery, the offices of then Omaha archbishop Daniel Sheehan. Palecek then served six months in the Pottawattamie County Jail.

Palecek later went on to work for small-town newspapers in Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa.

In 1997 he left newspaper work to concentrate on writing novels. His works are based in the Midwest and feature individuals fighting against the general conservatism they find in their towns. A native of Norfolk, Nebraska, Palecek now lives with his family in Sheldon, Iowa.

He was the Iowa Democratic Party nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives, Fifth District, 2000 election and received 67,500 votes on anti-military, pro-immigration, anti-prison platform.

His novels include: Terror Nation, The American Dream, The Last Liberal Outlaw, Looking for Bigfoot, The Truth, Twins,Killing George Bush, Joe Coffee's Revolution. He also worked, in cooperation with William Strabala, to author a non-fiction work- Prophets Without Honor: A Requiem for Moral Behavior. He also co-edited Cost of Freedom- An Anthology of Anti-War Activism with Whitney Trettien & Michael Annis in 2007.

He just finished his 2008 Book Tour, and also did The American Dream Book Tour in 2007. He is a tireless activist. His new book- "Iowa Terror" is a unique, political comedy, satire, anti-war - in George W. Bush’s America - telling the truth for once in America, that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney did 9/11 themselves in order to start a war and make money.

In the first hour we discussed our activism and backgrounds. Mike shared his experience as an activist, newspaper publisher, as well as investigative reporter. In that role he visited Lenord Peltier in prison and interviewed the FBI agent who was also responsible for putting (Palacek) behind bars years previously. Mike also described his experience as a Democratic candidate and we spoke about the Democratic Party's horrific treatment of grassroots, principled candidates (and Cynthia McKinney). We also spoke out the Impeachment Movement. Mike also described his book tours and how he organized them via the internet.

In the second hour, Mike described in greater detail the idea and story behind Iowa Terror- the main character, an architectural student, and Hispanic, named Jesus, who could tell it was controlled demolition the day it happened. Mike does live in a small conservative Republican town in Iowa and he fully vents the issues he cares about (in a humorous way) in his novels.

We also spoke about the 9/11 Truth Movement and the various groups around the country and their ability to raise issues and work together, as well as the varied ability of people to recognize and use their talents, abilities on behalf of the movement, or to affect the direction that the country is headed in. We did recognize that the movement continues to grow, as does the opposition to us, and the threat to the Internet, as well.

Next Show- May 12, 2008 - Media Evoluion Show with participants from the recent NewsTools2008.org Conference, Bill Densmore, Michele Ferriere, Josh Wolf and others.

April 2008

Tue., April 29, 2008: April 28, 2008 Dr. Mary's Monkey and the Media Show with in the first hourt- Edward T. Haslam and and in the second hour Melissa Cornick-Horyn.

Edward T. Haslam authored Dr. Mary's Monkey-
How the Unsolved Murder of a Doctor, a Secret Laboratory in New Orleans and Cancer-Causing Monkey Viruses are Linked to Lee Harvey Oswald, the JFK Assassination and Emerging Global Epidemics
. This is a remarkable book of an odyssey lasting many decades, by a native of New Orleans. In some way's a murder mystery, looking at a major cover-up by the government and the media, his book has received almost zero press, despite the fact that he brings to light a major witness to the assassination of JFK (Lee Harvey Oswald's ex-lover) who worked with Oswald, Ferrie and Mary Sherman in a secret laboratory developing cancer causing viruses, to be used as bio-weapons.

Ed Haslam, the author of Dr. Mary’s Monkey, was born in Kansas where his family had lived for several generations. His grand-parents were the school-teachers and country-doctors of the prairie. Shortly after his birth in 1951, his father (who had just returned from Harvard and the U.S. Navy) accepted a position teaching at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. During the next 35 years that Ed Haslam lived in New Orleans, he personally heard and saw things that involved the investigation into the Kennedy Assassination, the murder of one of his father colleagues, and claims of biological weapons to be used for political purposes. Haslam’s 1969 comment: “If there is a bizarre global epidemic involving cancer and a monkey virus thirty years from now, at least we’ll know where is came from” states his concerns clearly.

Haslam’s education was that of a well-placed New Orleans male. He attended Jesuit High School in the late-1960s. The background event of these years was Jim Garrison’s investigation into the JFK assassination. Haslam had teachers, classmates and friends whose family members were involved in the case in one way or another. This experience gave him an “insider perspective” of these events.

His website- www.themonkeyvirus.com has links to the interviews with Judyth Vary Baker, Oswald's lover, and a key witness in the book to detail precisely what was going on in the secret laboratory, as well as Oswald's role in the murder of JFK.

Ed lays out the story he has been working on for many deacdes beginning with the development of the polio vaccine and its contamination with cancer causing monkey viruses. He looks at the role played by the President of the American Cancer Society, the top medical researchers of the day, the incentive to come up with a cure for cancer causing viruses and the development of a secret laboratory with a five million dollar piece of equipment- a linear accelerator which probably explains the bizarre death of Dr. Mary Sherman to some degree, although the grisley details of the state of her corpse was covered up by the authorities at the time of her death.

Ironically the key witness that helped Ed to complete his tale was introduced to him by 60 Minutes who never spent so much money or time on a story and then failed to air it.

Beginning in the second hour, Ed urges Melissa to pass on his story to someone who will get it out.

Melissa Cornick-Horyn, in her career as a network news television producer, has received numerous awards for her groundbreaking original investigative reports, including the prestigious 2006 Edward R. Murrow Award and Mongerson Prize for Ethics in Investigative Reporting. (One of her award winning stories looked at "Cruelty to Owners" and the unethical seizure of animals under the guise of "saving them.")

Melissa has focused on untold stories that highlight human and civil rights issues. Although her career spans CBS, NBC and ABC, 60 Minutes, Dateline, 20/20, Primetime and Walter Cronkite’s CBS Reports, Cornick has worked much like an independent producer; from generating fresh concepts, to gumshoe investigating, to shooting, to crafting and editing. Her objective is to give a voice to the voiceless while highlighting the tenets of ethics of journalism.

She was the first national news journalist to investigate the wrongful conviction of one third of the adult black population of Tulia, Texas, a story which will be made into a feature film starring Halle Berry next year. The report called, “Town on Trial”, was credited with showcasing the issue so that ultimately, prisoners were exonerated from continuing to serve up to 60 year prison sentences. However, network leaders were influenced by a letter writing campaign by white townspeople who convinced the network to not air further updates about the prisoners’ release.

Currently, she is involved in multi-media strategies for balanced journalism across multiple new media platforms worldwide, including online and locative mediums. She lectures and mentors young people of every background on the importance of cultural pride and education. She believes in responsible citizen journalism from a variety of points of view.

Melissa and I will both be attending a Media Conference at the end of the month in Sunnyvale, California entitled- NewsTools2008.org- A Concept/Design mashup for journalists, technologists and entrepeneurs. In preparation for the conference, we were given the assignment of interviewing one another, we had such a fruitful conversation that I invited Melissa to continue the conversation on the radio show. We will be exploring the theme- "Media Reform, Revolution, or Renaissance?" to examine the history of the media and it's current state of evolution and where, in principal, it should be based upon the Constitutional tenets of the First Amendment.

In our dialogue Melissa made some interesting points. Her stories are generated by what she perceives to be injustices so hard felt that they can physically affect people who have lost the right to tell their stories. Investigative pieces which require a lot of work, resources, exposing large crimes which affect large numbers of people are increasingly frowned upon and discouraged by the major networks.

Genuine journalism should be as inexpensive as possible and comes from grassroots initiatives, generally the victims trying to share their experience. Often victims do not know or understand the law or their rights. It is very important to encourage and enable citizen journalism. While it is harder and harder to break stories into the corporate press, it is possible for stories to come out in the local press, or the internet and be amplified to the point where they cannot be ignored.

Melissa detailed her experience with the networks and how it became harder and harder to get stories out and the rise as she sees it of "new media" which shares her purpose. One subject the networks are loathe to touch is that of voting rights being denied, election fraud which we discussed in the first quarter of the show. Other areas include major financial debacles, wars and the propaganda used to sell them to the public.

People forgot what it was or means to be a citizen, in the aftermath of World War II, they fell into being "consumers," the debt trap and abdicated their civic obligations to their communities and countries as watchdogs, and defenders of people and planet. Melissa is determined to help citizen-journalists and help develop the next wave of journalism.

Unfortunately, my internet connection/power abruptly was cut off 54 minutes into the second hour- Melissa closed on the topic of weather control (an issue that I have covered on this show before).

Next- May 5th, 2008 Iowa Terror Show with Mike Palacek Iowa Terror is Mike's latest book, a unique, political comedy, satire, anti-war - in George W. Bush’s America - telling the truth for once in America, that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney did 9/11 themselves in order to start a war and make money.

Mike Palecek was a peace prisoner, having served time in county jails and federal prisons for civil disobedience at Offutt Air Force Base during the 1980s. During the 1990s he was a reporter for small-town newspapers in Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota. The small newspaper Ruth and Mike owned in southeast Minnesota was named the Newspaper of the Year for 1994 by the Minnesota Newspaper Association. In 2000 he was the Iowa Democratic Party nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives, Fifth District, receiving 67,500 votes (29%). Mon., April 28, 2008: Playlists: M3U | RAM (Individual MP3s: Hr1 Hr2 )

Tue., April 22, 2008: April 21, 2008 - Women, Empowerment, Labor Show with Almudena Carracedo, Robert Bahar in the first hour, and Almudena Carracedo, Robert Bahar and Jo Ann Lo together in the second hour.

Almudena Carracedo and Robert Bahar produced the award winning documentary film Made in L.A.. Jo Ann Lo was in the film and the lead organizer in the long campaign against "Forever 21."

"Made in L.A. follows the remarkable story of three Latina immigrants working in Los Angeles garment sweatshops as they embark on a three-year odyssey to win basic labor protections from a mega-trendy clothing retailer. In intimate verite style, Made in L.A. reveals the impact of the struggle on each woman’s life as they are gradually transformed by the experience. Compelling, humorous, deeply human, Made in L.A. is a story about immigration, the power of unity, and the courage it takes to find your voice."

Made in L.A. has been shown on PBS and has received recognition nationally and internationally. It is a powerful tool to raise awareness and encourage people to stand up for themselves and their rights.

The film may be complete, but the story never really ends. The most personal is often the most universal, and what the characters in the film and Almudena and Robert experienced in their project is deeply personal and very political. In the struggle for justice, people must always choose between their personal lives and the collective efforts in many struggles, on many levels.

There are multiple love stories behind this film. Almudena and Robert met, fell in love, and gave birth to this film. Within the stories of the three women is the story of a mother who left her children in order to support them and her family. One of the most heart-rending parts of the film is the mother’s concerns for her children, who seek to visit her but do not make it to L.A. The first question I asked after I saw the film was whether the mom ever was able to reunite with her children. In responding to this question, Almudena told us about a very teary, moved audience that witnessed the world premiere of the film in Washington, DC -- which also brought together the mother with her eldest son for the first time in over a decade. The film is a story of love and solidarity between workers and their families and between workers and other workers, across time, for the struggle of immigrants in sweatshops is not a new one, and continues to this day in countries throughout the world.

Jo Ann Lo is now a Co-Director of Enlace, a membership organization comprised of worker centers, unions and organizing groups in the U.S. and in Mexico engaged in base-building through organizing campaigns for economic and social justice. They seek to build the base of low wage workers to bring balance to the struggle between the rich and working poor.

Here is a statement from Almudena posted at the Made in L.A. website:

Sometimes, when you start a project, you can't imagine the journey that awaits you.

When I started this film, more than five years ago, my goal was only to create a short documentary that portrayed the conditions of Latina immigrants at Los Angeles factories. But, in the five years the film took to complete, it slowly, unexpectedly, became an intimate portrait of an increasingly universal experience in today's globalized society: the struggle of recent immigrants to get a foothold, to learn their rights and to assert their voice in our society.

The project started when I read a newspaper story about sweatshops in Los Angeles. It talked about the deplorable conditions faced by immigrants working in some downtown garment factories: long hours, sub-minimum wage pay (or no pay), unsafe or unsanitary conditions, rats, roaches. I had hears of such conditions in other parts of the world, but I was shocked that they were also happening in one of the richest countries on Earth. I had already made a short documentary and so I set out to make a little film that would expose these issues and that would take about five months to complete. Or so I thought.

I approached Los Angeles’ Garment Worker Center, then newly opened, and started spending time there, sometimes filming, often just talking with workers. They were about to launch a campaign against a clothing retailer: a boycott and a lawsuit that would attempt to hold a retailer – Forever 21, which sells trendy clothes at cheap prices – accountable for the conditions where their clothes are made. The energy of those early days was electrifying and I filmed everything that I could. As I started to get to know the workers, I was struck by their need to tell their personal stories. Stories of why they came to this country, of why they were doing garment work, of their hopes and fears for their children. They were surprised, and proud, that I wanted to listen.

A very raw and rare intimacy came out in these moments and is captured in my early footage. Speaking in Spanish, my native language, being a woman, and working almost completely alone gradually inspired trust and allowed me to enter their lives. In order to portray this, I shot the film in an unobtrusive, intimate verité style. I also desired to capture the lyrical beauty and the details of this colorful, diverse Los Angeles that few outsiders experience.

The five months that I had planned to devote to the project passed quickly and yet I felt that I might only be at the beginning. As the film began to grow, I sought out collaborators and met my producing partner, Robert Bahar. Through our invaluable collaboration, we began to reshape the film from a little documentary on sweatshops to a feature story focusing on the lives of three of the amazing women I encountered at the center: María Pineda, Maura Colorado and Guadalupe “Lupe” Hernandez. I filmed them at home, at the noisy protests with their children, at meetings at the Garment Worker Center, virtually everywhere they’d allow me to follow them. I was so dedicated that Lupe used to tease me: Little camera, one day you’ll leave me alone!

Early in the filming, the Garment Worker Center launched a national tour to draw attention to their boycott campaign and lawsuit. I followed Lupe to New York, and it was the first time either of us had experienced the Big Apple. While there, Lupe visited the Lower East Side Tenement, which preserves the cramped home-based factories of early 20th century immigrant garment workers, and the Museum of Immigration at Ellis Island, through which millions of immigrants, for centuries, came to the United States. Those two visits are captured in the film and were deeply moving for both of us. Lupe saw pictures of the immigrants who came to New York in the early 20th Century. She saw how they lived, how hard they worked, and how they struggled to assert their rights. It’s just like today! was her immediate, gut reaction. That moment was an epiphany. She and I suddenly understood that the experience of Latino immigrants today resembles, in so many ways, the experiences of generations of immigrants who have come before them, from so many other places, in other times and through other ports of entry. The same struggle, the same hopes and dreams for a better life, for themselves and their children.

If Made in L.A. were to accomplish anything, I would hope that it would provide a deeply human window into this immigrants’ struggle, which is repeated around the world regardless of the country of origin or destiny. Wouldn’t you leave your children, no matter the danger, no matter the pain, in order to send back enough money to feed them, hoping to give them a better life? Wouldn’t you work day and night, no matter the physical and emotional drain, if you had four children to raise and you had no other options? And, wouldn’t you overcome your fears and stand up one day to demand your rights in the workplace if you were constantly humiliated, underpaid, even spat at? What would you do – or not do – in order to survive?

But what we did not anticipate is that their campaign would take three long years and the story would take another turn. Struggles cause people to change and, as the campaign dragged on, we were amazed to observe each woman’s growing sense of self-confidence and self-worth, their agency and empowerment. It then became clear to us that this was the real story and that their struggle against Forever 21 mattered not just for its own sake, but because it served as a catalyst for each of their individual stories. The story of María taking control and deciding to leave her husband. The story of Maura learning to cope with her fears and struggling to reunite with her children. The story of Lupe, who grew up feeling ugly and insignificant, becoming an organizer and one day reflecting on her path from atop Victoria’s Peak overlooking Hong Kong. Made in L.A. is a story about the decision to stand up, to say I exist. And I have rights.

I am humbled and honored to have been allowed to capture this on film. Like María, Maura and Lupe, at the end of a long journey, we all got something that we had never expected.

    – Director/Producer/Cinematographer Almudena Carracedo

Robert Bahar is also a creator of http://www.doculink.org/, a grassroots organization and network for documentary filmmakers. He works as a producer and line producer on documentaries and works on the International Documentary Association's board of directors.

In the first hour we discuss the film and the issues it raises, but are soon challenged by a very anti-illegal immigrant caller. The anger he directs at immigrant workers is one reason the film was made, so that people are able to see them as "people" and not as some sub-human species deserving neither rights nor human dignity.

Jo Ann Lo gives more insight into the campaign, which was well chronicled in the film, and not just part of a larger campaign imposed upon those workers. We discuss how fear and ignorance are what organizers work to dispell, to enable people to understand and exercise basic human rights.

April 28, 2008 - Dr. Mary's Monkey and the Media Show with Edward T. Haslam and Melissa Cornick-Horyn.

Edward T. Haslam authored Dr. Mary's Monkey-

As the U.S. flag-bearer for Jesuit’s U.S. Marine Corps JROTC unit, he marched in many Mardi Gras parades and developed an interest in the “parade beat” music of this unusual city – an interest he was to pursue. After graduating from the demanding agenda of Jesuit High School, he studied Art History at Tulane University and further developed his interest in music and writing.

For most of the 1970s he worked with the legendary piano-player Professor Longhair, considered by many to the one of the Founding Fathers of Rock-and-Roll for his contributions to the style in the 1940s. In 1975, ex-Beatle Paul McCartney visited New Orleans to honor Professor Longhair and wrote the song “Rock Show” to commemorate his visit to Longhair’s concert which Haslam produced.

When Longhair died in 1980, Haslam got out of the music business to pursue a career in advertising. There he was able to use his creative, musical, art and writing skills as a Creative Director. His radio campaigns for Tabasco Pepper Sauce and his work for The Treasures of the Vatican art exhibit at the World’s Fair in New Orleans recall this period. It was during this time that he stumbled upon hard evidence connecting people involved in the JFK assassination investigation to the medical community in New Orleans. But the time was not right to speak out.

In the 1980s Haslam’s advertising career took him to Detroit where he managed advertising campaigns for the Chrysler Corporation – and where he made presentations to then-Chairman Lee Iacocca. In his word’s, “I went from Professor Longhair to Lee Iacocca in 8 years.”

In his final days in Detroit, as the AIDS epidemic fixed itself upon the media landscape, Haslam started questioning what he had seen and heard in New Orleans. He began work on a research project known as Mary, Ferrie & the Monkey Virus: The Story of an Underground Medical Laboratory. The book has expanded into the current version, which is in its third printing.

Samira Goetschel was born in Iran and fled the country with her family after her father was executed by the government of Ayatollah Khomeini. She spent her formative years in the United States. An alumnus of New York University film school, Goetschel's graduating film Clown De La Vie was the Best Short Film winner at the 1992 New York State Film Festival. She earned a Masters of Arts degree at Columbia University, and followed her passion for filmmaking with the short film ¿ about the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC.

Samira interviews an extraordinary array of people in her film including:

    Saad Al-Fagih
Founder and the President of the Movement for Islamic Reform in Arabia

    Milton Bearden
Former CIA Chief of the Soviet/East European Division, the CIA Station Chief in Pakistan during the Reagan Administration

    Benazir Bhutto
    Former Prime Minster of Pakistan

    Jack Blum
Former Special Counsel to the United States Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Terrorism, Narcotics and International Operations

Samira details how she was able to obtain the interviews, and catch some of her subjects off guard. She looks at the psychology behind Americans denial and lack of responsibility at our own complicity in the political situation. She shares her insights on the current situation with Iran and her next project which looks at the evolving situation in regards to nuclear weapons.

Paul Krik wrote, produced, directed & edited ABLE DANGER, his first feature film. In describing his film he wrote:

"...Documentaries are invaluable at exposing the truth, but they tend to reach the audience that is already listening. To reach a wider audience the message needs to be sugar coated. More people are reached by a gripping story and stylized filmmaking with beautiful and talented actors. Which is what I've undertaken to achieve. But this story is grounded in truth. The places are real. Vox Pop is a real cafe owned by a real man named Sander Hicks who publishes and sells books that the mainstream media won't touch. He is a level headed, rational and passionate real life Don Quixote still researching detail by irrepressible detail the truth of 911, election fraud, and everything else we should be infuriated about. As the sign above his door reads, 'Coffee, Books, Democracy.' This film is the fictional story of 'what if a femme fatale came into Vox Pop cafe with undeniable proof that 911 was an inside job?' It is a tribute to the people who fight the inevitable demise of American democracy.

Able Danger is a very real but little known private intelligence program that destroyed 2.5 terrabytes of data detailing the financial support network of Al Qaeda six months before 9/11."

Paul Krik spent a year on his bicycle touring the United States coast to coast from San Francisco to New Orleans in the year between earning his BA in Philosophy at Oberlin College and his MA at the University of Illlinois. He moved to Hamburg, wrote screenplays and worked in television, and then back to the US, to Los Angeles to make movies. In LA he quickly gave up marketing himself as writer and learned filmmaking at the School of Hard Knocks -- TV Commercial Production. He produced national TV commercials for a few years while building his 'Commercial Director's Reel'. He changed the title of the spec reel from 'Director' to 'Editor' and immediately took a job at TBWA Chiat/Day in San Francisco running their editorial department. He's been cutting national TV spots for more than 10 years now. Currently he lives with his German wife and ABLE DANGER co-producer, Katharina Lang, in New York -- where ABLE DANGER was shot. He is on staff at Jump Editorial (www.nycjump.com) in NOHO, New York City, where he edited the film as well.

Paul Krik's film is a riveting, fast paced, dramatic, action packed, beautifully produced artistic masterpiece. It weaves fact with fiction, reality and the surreal, the truth with half truths. There are obvious lies, white lies, black lies, innocent lies, deliberate lies lacing the dialogue, obscuring the truth, blurring the truth, protecting people, endangering people, tricking people, a labyrinth of manipulation, as if each person were a pawn in a great game, not knowing who is calling the moves, or how many players are competing. Throw in the sex, seduction, passions, intelligence operatives, cops, investigators, victims, bribery, money, and a plot moving so fast that the main character probably can’t figure out his own emotions between the competing fear, grief, terror, pain, pleasure, relief, uncertainty of an ever changing landscape of challenges.

When I finished watching it, my immediate reaction was the urge to see it again- to catch the details I had missed and to ponder and grok it more completely. It works and hopefully will reach a wider audience than the "documentary in church basement crowds." (Link to my review of the film).

Paul shares his hopes to get attention for the film and distribution at the major upcoming festivals.

He also shares his own personal story of how he began his own journey down the rabbit hole at the original Vox Pop in Brooklyn where he was a local supporter of the enterprise and gained a great deal of personal respect for Sander Hicks.

What really triggered his leap into producing the film was after the second Presidential election was stolen in 2006.

He hopes that some of the stuff that the film hints at, people will look more deeply into, and discover for themselves the underlying reality hidden by the smoke and mirrors of the corporate media.

April 21, 2008 Women, Empowerment, Labor Show with Almudena Carracedo and Robert Bahar, producers of the Documentary Film Made In L.A.

Almudena and Robert spent many years on the film, which evolved from a short ten minute organizing tool into a major documentary, transcending the original scope of the project and touching many lives. The film has been shown and earned awards internationally and has a universal message. Very eloquently, the women through their own experience and words realize that they are part of a much larger struggle that has a long history and continues today, well beyond the borders of the United States.

Mon., April 14, 2008: Playlists: M3U | RAM (Individual MP3s: Hr1 Hr2 )

Tue., April 8, 2008: April 7, 2008 - Debt Crisis/Solutions Show In the first hour- Danny Schechter. in the second hour- Ellen Brown and Richard C. Cook.

Danny Schechter MediaChannel founder and executive editor, Danny Schechter the "News Dissector" is also a founder and Vice President/Executive Producer of Globalvision, Inc., an award-winning media company formed in 1987.

Danny Schechter has been a broadcast and print journalist and is an internationally recognized speaker and writer on media issues. His work has been honored with Emmy awards, the IRIS award, the George Polk Award, the Major Armstrong Award, and honors from the National Association of Black Journalists. Mr. Schechter was the news director and principal newscaster for WBCN-FM, an on-air reporter for WGBH, and a news program producer and investigative reporter at CNN and ABC. He is the author of several books, the most recent of which is "Embedded: Weapons of Mass Deception" (Prometheus) which was the inspiration for the documentary: WMD- Weapons of Mass Deception.

His most recent documentary is In Debt We Trust which explores the relationship between Congress and the credit complex and how it is having an enormously negative impact on the country's financial health. Since the film was made, the situation has worsened and Danny has been following the David and Goliath struggle between the predators and their victims who are organizing and protesting.

Ellen Brown developed her research skills as an attorney practicing civil litigation in Los Angeles. In The Web of Debt- The Shocking Truth About Our Money System And How We Can Break Free , her latest book, she turns those skills to an analysis of the Federal Reserve and "the money trust." She shows how this private cartel has usurped the power to create money from the people themselves, and how we the people can get it back.

Brown developed an interest in the developing world and its problems while living abroad for eleven years in Kenya, Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua. She returned to practicing law when she was asked to join the legal team of a popular Tijuana healer with an innovative cancer therapy, who was targeted by the chemotherapy industry in the 1990s. That experience produced her book Forbidden Medicine, which traces the suppression of natural health treatments to the same corrupting influences that have captured the money system. her recent articles include: April Fools: The Fox to Guard the Banking Henhouse and Another Way Around the Credit Crisis: Minnesota Bill Would Authorize State Banks to "Monetize" Productivity.

Richard Cook is a former federal government analyst who was one of the key figures in the investigation of the space shuttle Challenger disaster.

In 1985, he went to work for NASA as the lead resource analyst for the space shuttle solid rocket boosters, external tank, and Centaur upper stage. Cook’s first assignment led to his writing a memo on engineers’ concerns that flaws with the solid rocket booster O-ring seals could cause the shuttle to blow up. In 1986, after the Challenger disaster, he disrupted a NASA cover-up when he provided his memo, along with other documents on the hazards of the O-rings, to the New York Times. His disclosures paved the way for revelations by engineers from Morton Thiokol, Inc., about how they opposed the launch of Challenger the night before lift-off.

Called to testify before the Presidential Commission at an internationally televised public hearing, Cook stood his ground when his experience and competence were challenged. He continued to contribute to the investigation during interviews with Commission staff and the NASA Office of Inspector General and in meetings with Senator Ernest Hollings, who was trying to raise issues before the Senate on whether there had been White House pressure to launch Challenger.

In addition to extensive interviews with the media after the disaster, Cook published articles in the Washington Post, Washington Monthly, Space and Security News, and the Houston Post; gave a press conference with the Institute of Space and Security Studies, where he said that the Presidential Commission had been created to cover-up the role of the White House in the launch decision; and wrote a report which he submitted to the U.S. Justice Department with a request for a new investigation. In 1991, he was the recipient of the Cavallo Foundation Award for Moral Courage in Business and Government, sharing the award with Roger Boisjoly of Morton Thiokol.

Before joining NASA, Cook worked as an analyst for the U.S. Civil Service Commission, where he received extensive training in federal government operations. He then worked for the Food and Drug Administration and next served in the Jimmy Carter White House under Esther Peterson, special assistant to the president for consumer affairs. He also taught history at the Field School, a private high school in Washington, D.C.

Cook left NASA to become an analyst with the U.S. Treasury Department in 1986. There he developed and taught training courses on policy analysis and led project teams on financial policy and organizational restructuring. He authored Challenger Revealed- An Insider’s Account of How the Reagan Administration Caused the Greatest Tragedy of the Space Age in 2006. He retired from the federal government in January 2007 and works today as a writer, lecturer, and consultant. His website is richardccook.com.

Cook graduated with honors from the College of William and Mary, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He resides in College Park, Maryland.

One of his areas of interest has been the monetary system and he has written a series of articles about the current financial crisis including- Financial Meltdown: U.S. Treasury Regulatory Reform Proposals: Hapless, Helpless, Hopeless, Is an International Financial Conspiracy Driving World Events?, and An Emergency Program of Monetary Reform for the United States.

We will be looking at the systemic, as well as the more recent flagrantly criminal aspects of the deteriorating financial system and possible solutions. For those wishing to become more involved, there is a conference coming up this month-

Next Show April 14, 2008 - 9/11 Film Makers Show with Samira Goetschel and Paul Krik

Samira Goetschel is the director of Our Own Private Bin Laden, an investigative documentary which draws parallels between the Cold War and the War on Terror. It examines the shady alliances and dealings of the CIA and the American government in Afghanistan in the 1980s leading to the "War on Terror." The film looks at how Osama Bin Laden has been constructed as a symbol and a tool, in order to raise tension and inspire violence.

Samira Goetschel was born and raised in Iran, but fled the country when her father was murdered during the Islamic Revolution in 1979. She is a graduate of the NYU Film School, but resides and works in Canada.

Paul Krik wrote, produced, directed & edited ABLE DANGER, his first feature film. (I just got a review copy in the mail today- so haven't had a chance to see it, yet, but here is how Paul describes it-

Able Danger is a very real but little known private intelligence program that destroyed 2.5 terrabytes of data detailing the financial support network of Al Qaeda six months before 9_11."

        Mon., April 7, 2008: Playlists: M3U | RAM (Individual MP3s: Hr1 Hr2 )

Tue., April 1, 2008: March 31, 2008 9/11 Truth Show with David Ray Griffin in the first hour and Janette MacKinlay in the second hour

David Ray Griffin is professor of philosophy of religion and theology, emeritus, at Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California, where he remains a co-director of the Center for Process Studies. His 30 books include The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions about the Bush Administration and 9/11 (2004), The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions (2005), The American Empire and the Commonwealth of God: A Political, Economic, Religious Statement (2006 with John B. Cobb, Richard A. Falk, and Catherine Keller), Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11: A Call to Reflection and Action (2006), and 9/11 and American Empire- Intellectuals Speak Out (2006, with Peter Dale Scott). Debunking 9/11 Debunking (2007).

We discussed his latest book 9/11 Contradictions: An Open Letter to Congress and the Press. There is an effort to get the book into the hands of Congress (At least the Democrats and the more reasonable, rational Republicans. We need $5000 to cover the costs of the books and have raised $3000 so far. If you would like to contribute to the effort, you can contribute via the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance and specify it is for DRG's 9/11 Contradictions. He is one of the clearest voices challenging the official narrative of 9/11 and its defenders within the media.

David Ray Griffin shared a few stories/ major contradictions from his book which were not very well known- How Long Did George Bush Remain in the Classroom? He pointed out the bogus, false accounts put out by the White House, or encouraged by the White House reconstructing the event on the first anniversary. He spoke about Where Did Authorities Find Atta's Treasure Trove of Information?. He shared the fact that the official account of the damning evidenced morphed dramatically in the first few weeks of the telling of the story, as well as the identities of the highjackers, until the government arbitrarily gave up on changing the names and identities and stuck with the 19 that they maintained from a certain point forward- regardless of conflicting info- including complaints from the live, innocent "alleged hijackers" who objected to be internationally condemned for a crime that they did not commit.

He also addressed a question regarding the financial situation on the day prior to 9/11, the missing 2.3 Trillion in the Pentagon budget, so conveniently forgotten on 9/11 when the Pentagon was hit, precisely in the spot where auditors were trying to chase down that missing money, far from the command center. He also addressed Were there Explosions in WTC 7? by telling the story of Guiliani's friend, Michael Hess, who was trapped on the eigth floor with Housing Authority worker, Barry Jennings. NIST changed Hess and Jennings' narrative dramatically, and the time that they were trapped, to fit substantiate the Nist Report.

David Ray Griffin has given some outstanding talks on the subject of 9/11 to diverse audiences, many of which have been filmed and shown on television and in theaters including 9/11 and the American Empire: How Should Religious People Respond?, 9/11 and Nationalistic Faith. 9/11: Let's Get Empirical, 9/11 & American Empire: Intellectuals Speak Out, 9/11 The Myth and the Reality (Produced by Ken Jenkins and distributed by 911TV.org).

Janette MacKinlay is a visual artist, and a survivor of the World Trade Center attacks. On September 11th, she watched the drama unfold from her apartment across the street from the World Trade Center. Jim, a sculptor who shared the apartment, settled in to observe what was happening, thinking that the towers would burn "all day." When they started to come down, he warned Janette and they quickly hurried out their door as the debris shattered their windows and filled their apartment with dust and debris. Janette wrote a book about her experiences entitled Fortunate: A Personal Diary of 9/11 illustrated with photographs including the artwork, and ikebana flower arrangements she created, as part of her own efforts to heal. Exhibitions of her artwork, included Deception Dollars.

By cosmic synchronicity, the Deception Dollar artist emailed me her name and phone number on the very day that I met Janette, in person, in San Francisco where members of the 9/11 Commission were speaking before the Commonwealth Club. I traded her a David Ray Griffin book- The New Pearl Harbor for a copy of her book, and that was the beginning of our friendship and collaboration. Janette joined the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance and became a vital, active member, treasurer, host, organizer, speaker, as well as a liason between the West Coast and New York City, when she decided to return to her refurbished apartment when she discovered it was available to rent.

Janette shared her insights, as a survivor and gave some excellent advice such as "Turn off your TV." It was the Commissioners who avoided all serious questions that convinced her that a massive cover-up was taking place. She feels that 9/11 was designed to traumatize the country and the world and that the images of it will continue to retraumatize people. She spoke of her own personal transformation from a patriotic citizen, ready to join the army, to an activist demanding accountablity. She spoke of the New York City Ballot Initiative and her desire to help. People can go to New ork, help collect signatures to get it on the ballot, download the petition and start gathering signatures in New York City, if they are there already. People can also donate money, and books, for educational outreach.

We spoke about The Shell Game, the concerted effort to get it on the New York Times Bestseller list during 9/11 Truth Week, between April 16th and April 22nd to help the author reach a larger national audience. We also spoke of the power of films, music, art, culture to reach people when the news avenues are being blocked.

Next Week's Show- April 7th, 2008 - Debt Crisis & Solutions Show with Danny Schecter, Ellen Brown and Richard Cook.

Danny Schechter, the News Dissector, media critic, film maker has produced an excellent film called In Debt We Trust and educating people about one of the great untold stories of our time, our current financial debacle and the criminal looting and fraud that is currently taking place.

Ellen Brown is the author of The Web of Debt- The Shocking Truth About Our Money System and How We can Break Free which addresses the systemic flaws of our debt-based system and how we can change it.

Richard Cook writes extensively on economic issues at his website- www.richardccook.com including the need for Monetary Reform and the desirability of a Guaranteed Basic Income.

Additional Details about guests and the show will be posted at- questioningwar-organizingresistance.blogspot.com

March 2008

Mon., March 31, 2008: Playlists: M3U | RAM (Individual MP3s: Hr1 Hr2 )

Tue., March 25, 2008: March 24, 2008 Abundance and Project Earth Show with Adam Trombly.

Adam Trombly Director of Project Earth for the Institute for Advanced Studies at Aspen (now also in Maui, Hawaii) has proven to be one of the most influential and unorthodox scientists of his generation. He is an internationally acknowledged expert in the fields of Physics, Atmospheric Dynamics, Geophysics, Rotating and Resonating Electromagnetic Systems, and Environmental Global Modeling. Taking the advice of his friend and mentor, R. Buckminster Fuller, Adam has maintained a "synergistic, global view" within a multi-disciplinary scientific background. From this perspective, Adam offers unique insights into the changes humankind has effected on our environment, and the adjustments our future requires of us now.

Today Adam continues to pursue the work of Project Earth in spite of the fact that in his view the destabilization of Planet Earth has reached critical, even nearly irreversible proportions.

His website- http://www.projectearth.com/ was conceived of with the clear understanding that we are either conscious or unconscious participants in our existence. We do not exist in isolation. We are not separate from the totality of existence. The dynamic of PROJECT EARTH has always been based on the healing of the distorted concept of personal and societal isolation through the reintegration of the human species. We reintegrate with one another when we communicate. Then the warning signals can pass throughout humanity.

This Show was a continuation of last week's show with Adam. A transcript of last week's show is posted at www.communitycurrency.org/trombly.html. This show also expands upon ideas touched on in the March 3, 2008 - New Energy and Abundance Paradigm Show with Wade Frazier.

In the first hour- Adam looks at what has happened in the scientific field, the Union of Concerned Scientists have bemoaned the Bush Administration for putting policy before science, for subverting scientific research and information to serve their political agenda. While good science continues to be done, he notes that the technologies that would really benefit people and planet continue to be suppressed.

We look at the growth of the military/industrial complex since World War II, and the shift that occurred in America, when by a fluke, the Americans realized that there were technologies far superior to their own that they suddenly had to contend with.

We look at whether they have deliberately caused problems or just profited from disasters, which allow corporations to leap into areas and gain control over resources..

Adam mentions the new joint weather modification project which involves a large number of governments in the Northern Hemisphere and brought down the temperatures a degree or so this winter. We discuss whether those in power are acting out of fear, and whether they are altering their own agenda in the face of unexpected obstacles that they have recently had to face.

In the Second Hour

We look at the situation in Iraq, the drugging of soldiers, as well as the drugging of the American people, to control their thought processes and behaviors.

A caller mentioned a horrific 3.8 billion dollar Tar Sands Project being launched by British Petroleum. Adam pointed out the total folly of it and policies which need to urgently be reversed and plugged the new book by Steve Alten- The Shell Game (Steve was also a guest on the show in January).

The real obstacle, as always, is communicating the critical information about truths, realities, solutions, that exist and could be implemented, if we can wake up and activate the American people, wake them from their trance and get them to exercise their power and get a government to serve, rather than oppress them.

Next Week’s March 31, 2008- 9/11 Truth Show will be with David Ray Griffin and Janette MacKinlay.

,David Ray Griffin is the author of many excellent 9/11 Truth books, we will be discussing his latest book- 9/11 Contradictions in the first hour. HeDavid Ray Griffin has been a professor of philosophy of religion and theology at the Claremont School of Theology in California for over 30 years. He is co-director of the Center for Process Studies there and the author or editor of over 30 books.

In the second hour our guest will be Janette MacKinlay, a visual artist living across from the World Trade Center who witnessed and survived the South Tower's destruction, which blew out the windows of her apartment. Traumatized by the event, she found expression in art and writing, publishing the book Fortunate, a Personal Diary of 9/11. She has been a moving force in the 9/11 Truth movement.

Mon., March 24, 2008: Playlists: M3U | RAM (Individual MP3s: Hr1 Hr2 )

Tue., March 18, 2008: March 17, 2008 New Energy and Project Earth Show with Adam Trombly

In 1980 Adam and colleague Joseph Kahn designed and applied for patents for the Closed Path Homopolar Generator, a potentially revolutionary design for super efficient generation of electrical power. In June of 1982, International Letters of Patent were published by the International Patent Cooperation Treaty Organization. (Patent Publication Number WO82/02126)

In 1983 Adam began to dedicate his efforts to Project Earth. The late R Buckminster Fuller is quoted as saying, "Project Earth is a human design experiment. It will be incumbent on human beings throughout the Earth to become a living network, to demonstrate the power of working synergistically with their environment to insure a future worth living in."

In 1984 Adam was awarded the RJ Reynolds III Endowment for his efforts with Project Earth. Copies of his Closed Path Homopolar Generator Patent had circulated throughout the world. One scientist, Paramahamsa Tewari, who was then Head of Quality Control for the Tarapore Atomic Power Station in Trombay, India, received permission to carry out experiments with the design. In 1986, Tewari published results of experiments carried out with a crude facsimile of the machine described in the patent. In the American Industrial Journal, Magnets, Tewari wrote, 'The test results have shown an efficiency of the machine above 250%." It was the first time in human history that claims of greater than 100% output had been independently verified by a bona fide third party using the description of the art provided by a patent document.

Adam continued his research into new energy technologies with colleague David Farnsworth. In June, 1989, in New York City, Trombly and Farnsworth physically demonstrated a small solid state electrical transformer that measurably showed an efficiency of 54:1. Adam then walked down the street to the United Nations to give an address. The American people, in particular, have still not gotten the message that there is an entirely new and benign option to the current death spiral of humanity. Ignoring the opportunity that was presented on that day in 1989, the world still suffers under the tyranny of fossil fuels and a global power structure which seems bent on the eradication of all species.

In the first hour of the show, Adam shares the meassage he gave to the UN many years ago, that we have the technologies to live "in abundance," but these technologies are being withheld from our species.

He describes his early life, and the life of his father, who had a rather extraordinary experience in the US Airforce during World War II, and was recruited after he finished his studies at Purdue University for extremely high level secret projects which also brought him into contact with the CIA and the MK Ultra experiments. His father was a friend of Frank Olson, and both of them were given LSD by Sidney Gottlieb in an experiment. Frank was murdered and Adam's father refused to be quiet about his friend's death. Adam's father subsequently was given a biological agent which induced illness and death. Adam discovered his father's journals in an attic later and learned the extent of his secret work with the government.

Adam was greatly inspired by the work of Tesla, and encouraged by his mentor Buckminster Fuller. He does not believe in exposing problems without oferring solutions, and therefore he worked towards energy solutions. He has lost his laboratory equipment a couple of times and had his life threatened on more than one occasion.

In the second hour of the show, Adam mentions the use of extremely low frequency waves and other waves used to manipulate people's thoughts and emotions. He discusses HAARp and transmitters being set up in Australia, Indonesia, and three earlier ones in Russia.

A caller asked about the solar energy having a greater effect upon the Earth's climate than anything humans might do. Trombly responded that humans were exasparating an already unstable situation.

In closing, he stated that we have the capacity to heal the Earth, and the human situation, the challenge remains to break the trance induced by those who want to keep people ignorant, living in fear, and under their control.

Details on Next Week's Show will be posted at theQuestioning War- Organizing Resistance Blog.

Mon., March 17, 2008: Playlists: M3U | RAM (Individual MP3s: Hr1 Hr2 )

Tue., March 11, 2008: March 10, 2008 - 9/11 Truth Down Under Show with John Bursill in the first hour, and Glen Clancy and Glen Clancy in the second hour.

John Bursill is one of the principle organizers of Sydney Truth Action of Australia, which is organizing and hosting from March 14th to 16th, Oz 2008 Truth Now Tour, an International Conference, taking place in Sydney, Australia to critically examine the events of 9/11 and Australia’s participation in the War on Terror. Themed- "Did Australia go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan on a false pretext?" the event will focus on what really occurred on September 11th and what has been done in the name of September 11th by the Australian government. The conference will examine how the US and Australian governments have actively sponsored, or been complicit in the cover-up, of terrorism.

John Bursill lives in a small town outside of Sydney, and has worked for 21 years in engineering, including as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer, (on Boeing 737, 747 and 767 series aircraft.) He has also served in the military, in the Australian Army(reserve) Infantry for 10 years, finishing up as acting Battalion Operations/Intelligence Sergeant. He has devoted much time to community service, music (his band is named Spindrift). He is almost forty, married with two young girls. He is a member of the Australian Green Party, the Returned Serviceman's League of Australia, the Australian Wilderness Society, Lions International, and Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. He is passionately interested in 9/11 Truth and Justice. His hobby is motor cycles.

John describes the day's events. American 9/11 Truth activists coming for the conference are joining with Australian activists in 9/11 Truth Actions (Cosmos who began the monthly 11th day actions, and Ken and Hummux are with him now.) He also describes the circumstances in which he experienced 9/11 and the atitudes that Australians in general shared regarding the first reports of what happened. Later when he saw Loose Change- Second Edition, John tried to prove the thesis wrong, but couldn't after a six week period, he came to belief that "9/11 was an inside job," and his way of dealing with the information, was to simply help spread the word. Many people have come forward to help with the Sydney 9/11 Truth group and the upcoming Conference. Mr. Yukihisa Fujita, a member of Democratic Party of Japan, who challenged Bush’s request for assistance from the Japanese to supply the US military effort in Afghanistan, by raising questions about 9/11 and the “War on Terrorism” in the Japanese Parliament, and attended the 9/11 Truth event in the EU parliament will also be attending the conference. Another speaker who has been added is Mandouh Habib, one of the earlier victims of extraordinary rendition and torture at the hands of the US government.

Glen Clancy, from Victoria, Auatralia, created "Fool Me Twice" described as "A documentary about the Australian government's lies about the East Timor massacres, the cover-up of the Bali Bombings and subsequent anti-terror laws." The 25 year old, Clancy is Australia's Dylan Avery (of Loose Change fame). The work was originally created to be viewed online, but Clancy is working on improving the resolution for larger screen and theatrical viewing and will be premiered at the conference. He also has a double degree in arts and commerce, majoring in Japanese and Finance. He was extremely interested in politics from an early age until the Australian government committed to helping invade Iraq. Seeing Loose Change re-invigorated him and persuaded him that finally the criminals who had orchestrated the wars of the past century could finally be brought to justice. This lead him to the make Fool Me Twice. He is currently teaching English in Japan.

Glen wrote (at the Fool Me Twice Blog on December 4, 2008)

    To all,

After discovering 911 was an inside job, through such movies as Loose Change, Terrorstorm and Zeitgeist, I decided to investigate the Bali bombings. The evidence was overwhelming. There had been a cover-up.

As shocking as the truth may be, please keep an open mind while viewing this documentary. FOOL ME TWICE is 100% sourced. Please see reference list below. I tried to produce a documentary as true to the genre as possible, limiting opinion and simply documenting the facts.

I believe that 911 Truth is one of the most important movements of our time and exposing the cover-up of the 2002 Bali bombings can help destroy the "911/War on terror/Al-CIAda" myth.

    Please help spread this information.

    Kind regards,

    Glen

Glen was in Japan when he first saw Loose Change, and began doing his research, really in isolation, with little encouragement (in fact mainly discouragement) from friends. His film is a very worthy effort and a great consciousness raising tool for Australians, but also others in exposing the larger pattern of state sponsored terrorism. In a very plain, just the facts style, he presents extremely daming information that allows the viewer to make their own conclusions about the scale of deception on the part of the government and draw their own conclusions. The documentary was premiered in Austria and provoked lively discussions.

Some points that the film draws attention to include:

The Australian government's foreknowledge of the violence that took place in East Timor and the Indonesian government's hand in that violence, despite their public denials.

The large scale of one of the explosions in Bali that could not be explained by the official story.

    The systemic destruction of evidence.

The arrival of an international investigative team within 24 hours.

The ousting of the reporter most critical of the investigation at the request of the American ambassador.

How the bombing changed the Indonesian government's attitude towards cooperating with the US "War on Terrorism" policies.

The strange behavior of the US government towards potential, identified, and imprisoned "terrorists" in connection with the Bali bombing.

Next week's March 17, 2008- New Energy - Project Earth Show with Adam Trombly.

Adam Trombly, Director of Project Earth for the Institute for Advanced Studies at Aspen (now also in Maui, Hawaii) has proven to be one of the most influential and unorthodox scientists of his generation.

From the point of view of one who witnessed this event firsthand, I can't believe the entire world didn't change as a result. One of the reasons I asked Adam if I could write this piece is because it is now ten* years later and the American people, in particular, have still not gotten the message that there is an entirely new and benign option to the current death spiral of humanity. As the result of ignoring the opportunity that was presented on that day in 1989, the world still suffers under the tyranny of fossil fuels and a global power structure which seems bent on the eradication of all species.

Today Adam continues to pursue the work of Project Earth in spite of the fact that in his view the destabilization of Planet Earth has reached critical, even nearly irreversible proportions.

"At this point I am recommending that people pray like they never have before for Divine or at least Benign Intervention. It is unlikely that the boys in Washington and other world capitals are going to implement any world healing policies unless the populations of the world rise up and unequivocally demand change. We don't have much time."

Tue., March 4, 2008: March 3, 2008 - New Energy and Abudance Paradigm Show with Wade Frazier First Hour- Biographical background, Second Hour- Exploring the issues. Wade Frazier is a former alternative energy entrepreneur who was deeply involved in bringing alternative energy to the American marketplace in the 1980s. While the United States energy establishment was almost uniformly hostile to his organization’s efforts, when they began pursuing technology with free energy potential, they were offered a billion dollars to cease their efforts. When the billion-dollar offer was refused, their company was destroyed and their founder spent two years behind bars in California on fabricated charges. In the aftermath of those events, Wade then spent the next twelve years performing the research and analysis that became his web site, at www.ahealedplanet.net. He shared his experiences, explained how energy has always powered economies, and how free energy can transform the human journey from a scarcity-based paradigm to an abundance-based paradigm.

    Notes on what we discussed:

How the world works: energy is its engine. Energy = life = economic activity - from hunter-gatherer to domestication, to industrialization, to today, energy has always been the engine of all ecosystems and hence, all economic systems. From richest to poorest nations, economic production divided by energy consumption is almost a constant. Ethiopia and Britain, or Zaire, Bangladesh and USA.

Slavery appeared in early civilization and disappeared in early industrialization. Energy was the reason. The average American has 80 energy slaves today, and it is almost entirely responsible for our standard of living. Although exploiting the poor is a key ingredient in maintaining the West’s standard of living, there are no visible slaves however, so we tend to ignore the energy issue in our daily lives, although it makes it all possible. The average American lives better than the richest king of 200 years ago.

New Energy and Free Energy very similar, and I use them interchangeably.

FE energy technology exists today, but the powers that be prevent it from being publicly available. FE is orders of magnitude beyond those solutions, and can take the world economy into realms scarcely imaginable today. What if instead of 80 energy slaves, which only a small fraction of humanity enjoys today, everybody had 1,000 energy slaves, or 10,000, and their use harmed nobody, and was environmentally harmless? It can begin looking a lot like heaven on earth, and quickly.

Wade was introduced to energy issue in the early 1970s. World’s best engine for powering an automobile invented by his first professional mentor. Came to him at a stop light. Should have taken a team of scientists and engineers twenty years to invent it. Senator called him at home. Make your funeral plans.

In 1986, in Seattle, Wade and his partner began with world’s best heating system, and his partner was run out of Washington State and one of his employees died due to the suppression efforts, which radicalized him. His partner had a genius for industrializing processes and bringing innovative products the mass market. Unfortunately, the energy interests already “own” that market, and were not going to welcome somebody who could have saved 80% of the consumer’s heating costs. In the Pacific Northwest; they had more like 25% savings in mind.

They went to Boston and had interesting experiences, FE idea, $10 million offer, etc. and then he tied into money and talent in Ventura, CA, my home town, where they moved to in June 1987. The effort began taking off in late 1987, and then they acquired technology that may have been able to produce free energy, and then they lowered the boom on Wade, his partner and the business.

January 1988: armed raid; they stole their technical materials and seized their equipment. They were made a billion dollar offer, and when they refused it. His partner was arrested on a million dollar bail immediately after on fabricated charges. Awesome judicial corruption. Ventura County is home of the Rodney King beating verdict and regularly makes the top ten lists of most corrupt law enforcement jurisdictions in America, and that is saying something.

After lowest moment of his journey, after having his face rubbed in how the system really works, he mortgaged his life to give his partner a slim chance in Kangaroo Court. The quixotic gesture worked, and his partner was freed. He still spent two years behind bars and was almost murdered in prison. His case set legal precedents all the way. Wade was radicalized, and while his former partner tried picking up the pieces and went back at it, and is still at it, Wade took a different path. Twelve years and 12,000 hours of research, writing and editing became his website.

In 2003, Brian O’Leary asked him to help found the New Energy Movement. When Eugene Mallove was murdered (probably related to his FE efforts), that was the beginning of the end of their involvement (Brian has stated that that was when he decided that the U.S. was no longer safe for FE activists, and he moved to Ecuador).

Gaining experience in the FE field can be hazardous to one’s health, however, and I seek to help prevent too many people from learning FE lessons the hard way like I did and the others like me. There are not yet any happy endings for anybody in this pursuit.

Energy scarcity has always accompanied the human journey. Scarcity paradigm has been hard-wired into human consciousness over the past 10,000 years.

Scarcity-based ideologies: nationalism, capitalism, organized religion, scientism, rationalism, materialism, and the more obvious racism, sexism, etc. They all appeal to the ego too, as the adherents are on the “winning team” or aspire to be. Shedding our scarcity-based indoctrination is not easy. He will always be working at it.

A comprehensive perspective is needed to see the big picture. Bucky Fuller was one of the first comprehensivists. Wade discovered his work after hefinished my site in 2002. Fuller’s work should be recovered from its neglect. Economics is the dog, politics is the tail. All political actors have always been stooges of the economic interests. As Fuller stated, until the Industrial Revolution, 1-out of 1,000 lived to a ripe old age, and 1-in-100,000 was an economic success, is the reason for scarcity-hardwiring.

A caller asked more about Fuller, whose work was suppressed to a great degree. Benjamin Fulford says that his grandfather was murdered and his fortune stolen when he tried to back Tesla.

Political-economic dynamics are why we do not have FE, not a lack of technology.

All paradigms are based on assumptions. Overturning the assumptions is how paradigms change (Einstein/Newton). Abundance paradigm, based on energy abundance, can eliminate the scarcity assumption that all of today’s ideologies operate from (economic, political, scientific, religious). Heaven on earth is feasible with FE, with an economically abundant, environmentally harmless, global civilization. No want, no disease, so strife. But time is short. Climate change, acidifying oceans, energy and resource wars, America quickly going fascist (Rome, Third Reich – in times of fear, politics shifts to right, as it becomes everybody for themselves). With FE, all of that can go away almost overnight.

Myths of science. Greatest physicists were mystics, and did not subscribe to the rationalist-materialist paradigm that has dominated the West for centuries. Einstein, Tesla, Heisenberg, his mentor, etc, all mystics.

There is no such thing as pure science; there are no “laws of physics,” only theories. Edison’s light bulb, Wright Brothers, Béchamp, Pasteur and germ theory, pleomorphic microbiology (Rife, Naessens, microscope and optical theory), cancer racket (worst in California), heart disease racket (bypass does not work), fluoridation, etc. Second law of Thermodynamics, Reich, Mallove. Scientific literacy is important, but scientific dogma is crippling.

Less than 1% of the scientifically-trained can think past their textbooks, which is common in all disciplines. Planck’s quote, “a new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.”

Technology is very real. Sparky Sweet. Adam Trombly. Underground exotic technology show witnessed by Wade's friend who does not even believe in ETs.

The most heartwarming movements he has seen still focus on enlarging the tiny slice of the scarce economic pie that the poor receive, instead of making that pie a hundred times larger, so nobody needs to fight for their slice. FE can do that. Most of what passes for economics today does not focus on production or consumption, but on the exchange aspect – AKA who own what. In a world of scarcity, that is the focus, in a world of abundance, the exchange aspect will become relatively meaningless.

Can we make new energy thinkable?

Next Show- March 10, 2008, 9/11 Truth Now- Down Under Show, with John Bursill and others. John is organizing the Oz 2008 Truth Now Tour - Sydney Conference March 14th - 16th. The theme is "Did Australia go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan on a false pretext?" With elected officials raising serious questions about the official 9/11 story in Japan, Europe, even the US Congress, it's time to help Australians re-examine their country's recent history and actions.

February 2008

Tue., February 26, 2008: February 25, 2008- Impeachment and Movement Building Show - in the first hour David Swanson and Cynthia Papermaster speaking about the Impeachment Movement, in the second hour Larry Pinkney on building movements.

David Swanson is the creator of www.impeachcheney.org/, the Washington Director of democrats.com/ and of www.impeachpac.org/. He is co-founder of the www.afterdowningstreet.org/ coalition, creator of www.meetwithcindy.org/, and a board member of Progressive Democrats of America, of the Backbone Campaign, and of Voters for Peace. He was the organizer in 2006 of Camp Democracy. He serves on the steering committee of the Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice and on a working group of United for Peace and Justice.

He has worked as a newspaper reporter and as a communications director, with jobs including Press Secretary for Dennis Kucinich's 2004 presidential campaign, Media Coordinator for the International Labor Communications Association, and three years as Communications Coordinator for ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Swanson is a member of and has served on the Executive Council of the Washington Baltimore Newspaper Guild. He obtained a Master's degree in philosophy from the University of Virginia in 1997. His website is www.davidswanson.org/. In April and May 2007, Swanson consulted part-time for Kucinich for President 2008.

Cynthia Papermaster is a law librarian, peace activist, and mother living in Berkeley, California. She works with Code Pink and several impeachment groups. Most recently she organized two rallies in San Francisco on President's Day to Give Cheney the Pink Slip. A great video was posted on Indybay.org, as well as an articleA Presidents Day to Remember (with photos by Robert Livingston). She is also running for Congress on an Impeachment platform against Pete Stark in California's 13th District.

David and Cynthia shared the latest developments on the Impeachment front, and basically said “It is up to us” to force the issue on Congress and get them to do the right thing. Kucinich was challenged/delayed from introducing 50 articles of Impeachment against Bush on the day Bush delivered the State of the Union address, by a sudden challenge against his Congressional seat, which also forced him to drop from the Presidential race. The Vermont Senate passed a resolution demanding that their Senator support Impeachment. States are also working on resolutions to have Bush and Cheney arrested and indited for their crimes within their boundaries. Over 90 cities have passed Impeachment Resolutions. Many people are challenging their Congressman by running against them and forcing them to change their stance on impeachment. Everyone is encouraged to do what you can- sign the petitions, call your Congressman, write letters, organize rallies, pass resolutions, run for Congress- or organize or attend a Beach Impeach (the next one in San Francisco is on April 26th), whatever you can do- it all adds up and could help us reach the tipping point.

Larry Pinkney is a veteran of the Black Panther Party, the former Minister of Interior of the Republic of New Africa, a former political prisoner and the only American to have successfully self-authored his civil/political rights case to the United Nations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. For more about Larry Pinkney see the book, Saying No to Power: Autobiography of a 20th Century Activist and Thinker by William Mandel [Introduction by Howard Zinn]. Larry wrote an excellent article entitled-

Barack Obama and the Euphoria of Madness recently on the Black Commentator website, he is on its editorial board.

He also wrote:

The Pimping of Black America: Why Much of the Corporate Media Supports Barack Obama (January 17, 2008)

Double Speak- Barack Obama and Continuing U.S. Hypocrisy (January 10, 2008) Why was he a political prisoner? The following excerpt from his FBI file, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, speaks for itself:

"Pinkney is potentially dangerous due to his demonstrated ability to unify black and white. His associates are Negro, White, and Chinese. Special attention is being given to neutralizing him. The areas of sex and drugs appear to be the most effective ones to utilize. His habits in these areas are unknown, but are being monitored with this objective. The FBI is working in conjunction with [blacked out, but a covering note to the U.S. Secret Service, San Francisco, accompanies this]."

Larry shattered the myth of Obama and revealed Obama’s loyalties and interests, which certainly do not serve the American people or the world. He also spoke very highly of Cynthia McKinney, her record and her potential to help build a real people’s movement and third parties in this country. He spoke of the need for coalition building, and most importantly raising consciousness and conscience. He is a very inspiring speaker.

As the curent regime grows more and more blatantly tyrannical and oppressive, resistance against it mounts. Power concedes nothing without a struggle, and generally tries to make the mildest and most cosmetic of reforms, if possible, in order to maintain control. How much systemic change can be acheived depends upon the depth and strength of the social movement. For an overview of how Social Movements work see- Strategy for the 9/11 Truth Movement

February 18, 2008, President’s Day- Psychological Warfare Show- In the first hour with Brent Jessop in the second hour with Ken Jenkins.

Brent Jessop is the webmaster of http://www.knowledgedrivenrevolution.com/ According to Brent- The purpose of his website is quite simple: to spread knowledge.

"I just present the knowledge that I have available as honestly as I can.

Knowledge gives people the opportunity to think critically and that is the first step toward real freedom."

He earned his masters degree in Biological Engineering at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. His research was on food industry applications of multivariate image analysis.

Brent explained in simple terms the work he did and what drew him to the subject of information and psychological warfare. He doesn’t like the word “awakening” as he feels it is a long process and that he was always questioning authority from a tender age.

The main subject of his website is psychological operations or information warfare.

He explained how the ruling elite was dependent upon the unquestioning belief of the “mass man” and their own need to trust someone else to be in the position of responsibility.

Our guest in the second hour is Ken Jenkins. His primary interest has been on personal growth and spirituality, he has taught psychological classes for about 15years, with one speciality being the Enneagram of personality drives. A video producer by profession, Ken is a pioneer in the 9/11 Truth movement, and has been a speaker at many 9/11 events, focusing on the psychological aspects of 9/11. He has produced dozens of 9/11 Truth DVDs, including ten with leading author, David Ray Griffin. His insights into psychology have helped people to empathize and communicate with people too frightened to accept the truth about 9/11 and the current situation. He also helps people to move out of "panic mode" into a more productive sense of "urgency" in their efforts to share their insights with the public and empower people to stand up to tyranny and control their own and our collective future.

Ken briefly touched upon where the special operation could have been botched – Building number 7 coming down so lat in the day, without being hit by a plane, and speculating that having the “highjacked planes aloft” for so long without any interceptors being launched could not have been part of the original plans- too many gaping holes in it. He stressed that by planting the official story when people were in the most traumatized, vulnerable state they were most apt to accept the official explanation however illogical or flawed and once imbedded a belief is very difficult to dislodge. He mentioned the film “What the Bleep do we know?” and the hopeful aspects of “quantum activism” that our work in the world can be greatly enhanced by our own inner work, as all is connected in some mysterious way. He also mentioned the importance of emotional intelligence in regard to evaluating our own and others belief systems or information (Epistomology- Etymology: Greek epistEmE knowledge, from epistanai to understand, know, from epi- + histanai to cause to stand —Date: circa 1856 : the study or a theory of the nature and grounds of knowledge especially with reference to its limits and validity). Fortunately emotional intelligence can be learned and can help us to evaluate where someone else who is trying to impart information is coming from.

Both guests encouraged wider shared leadership, responsibility, understanding, and the empowering aspects of truth.

Next Show- “Building Social Movements”- I have invited a few guests, but at the moment can confirm only one- Larry Pinkney. - a veteran of the Black Panther Party, the former Minister of Interior of the Republic of New Africa, a former political prisoner and the only American to have successfully self-authored his civil/political rights case to the United Nations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. For more about Larry Pinkney see the book, Saying No to Power: Autobiography of a 20th Century Activist and Thinker by William Mandel [Introduction by Howard Zinn]. More details on the upcoming show will be posted on the show’s blog- questioningwar-organizingresistance.blogspot.com.

February 11, 2008 - Weather Warfare Show with Jerry E. Smith.

Jerry E. Smith began his professional career as a writer, lecturer and editor back in 1969. His bibliography of published works includes scores of articles and reviews, over a dozen ghost-written books, and three non-fiction works. His newest book is "WEATHER WARFARE: The Military's Plan to Draft Mother Nature." It is a follow up to his 1998 best seller "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy."

In the First Hour of the show, Jerry speaks about HAARP, weather modification, earthquakes, hurricanes, the shift from overt programs to covert programs when the Convention on Environmental Modification was passed by the UN. In the second hour, Jerry discusses the anomalies surrounding the behavior of Hurricane Katrina and who might have could have done something to cause Katrina to change direction twice. He also discusses other legislation, attempted legislation revealing some of the ongoing programs taking place, and the controversial subject of chemtrails and contrails, their purpose, effects, the threat that they pose. His book WEATHER WARFARE: The Military's Plan to Draft Mother Nature is scientific reporting at a layman's level. He presents evidence from military and scientific sources that intentional environmental modification (EnMod) is the 600-pound gorilla at the global warming debate that everyone is pretending isn't there. In the show he quotes and mentions some of the more interesting cases that his research has turned up.

His earlier book was about the "who" and "why" behind the HAARP program, Weather Warfare documents the reality of intentional EnMod, and the threat to health and security it poses.

The heart of WEATHER WARFARE is proof that EnMod is science fact and that we have neither the political nor legal infrastructure in place to deal with this technology. Addressed at length is the dismal failure of the 1978 United Nations EnMod Convention, which prohibits the use of environmental modification as a weapon of war. The unaddressed issue of ongoing intentional EnMod by various militaries, terrorists and civilians is a key factor skewing the evidence in the global warming/climate change debate and as such is of gravest importance. The politics of the 21st century, and possibly our survival as a species, will turn on how this debate plays out.

Despite the title, it is not just "The Military." It is about the whole environment: earth, air and sea; it is about a lot of players: academic, commercial and military; with a lot of objectives: financial, militaristic and political.

He looks at the history of "weather control" from the Rain Makers of the 1890s through the development of cloud seeding in the middle of the twentieth century, to today's "off the shelf" technologies of precipitation enhancement, hail suppression and fog dispersal. He looks at programs to manipulate hurricanes, such as Project Cirrus and Project Stormfury, and what evidence there is of being able to control hurricanes in the 21st Century.

It also covers Defense Secretary Cohen's claim that "Others ... can ... set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves." Starting with Nicola Tesla's earthquake machine of the 1890s he traces the possibility of "earthquakes on demand" from the development of a "tsunami bomb" during World War II (as revealed by documents recently declassified by the New Zealand government), through Project Faultless which caused a massive earthquake in the Nevada desert after a high yield atom bomb was intentionally detonated on a fault line, to evidences of human initiation of several major quakes.

The US Air Force insists that it has no interest in "controlling the weather" yet HAARP represents the expenditure of hundreds of millions of dollars and a decade of research and construction in a program whose avowed purpose is to modify the atmosphere. What, if any, is the difference between "modifying the atmosphere" and "controlling the weather"?

WEATHER WARFARE also examines claims that chemicals are being deliberately injected into our atmosphere by high-flying planes that are criss-crossing our skies with "chemtrails." First I examine the environmental issues associated with jet aircraft condensation trails (contrails), which are indeed grave. Then he looks at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and numerous other national and international panels of scientists which have extensively, and expensively, studied ways to mitigate global warming through schemes called "geo-engineering."

Edward Teller, father of the hydrogen bomb and Associate Director of LLNL, actually advocated putting up a "sunscreen" to save the Earth. He proposed injecting aluminum and barium dust particles high into the atmosphere to increase the amount of solar energy being reflected out into space as a way to offset the heating by greenhouse gases.

Many scientific boards and committees have looked into this proposal and found it technologically feasible, but recognized that the legal and environmental hurdles would be too high to overcome to implement such a project--if done openly, so some proposed doing it covertly.

Weather as a Force Multiplier: Owning the Weather in 2025 is a study designed to comply with a directive from the chief of staff of the Air Force to examine the concepts, capabilities, and technologies the United States will require to remain the dominant air and space force in the future. Presented on 17 June 1996, this report was produced in the Department of Defense school environment of academic freedom and in the interest of advancing concepts related to national defense. (Disclaimer) The views expressed in this report are those of the authors and do not reflect the official policy or position of the United States Air Force, Department of Defense, or the United States government. February 4, 2008 Greening Nuclear Power Show with Karl Grossman.
